Importance of ethics and values from a global point of view
Author of book titled ‘Character Is Destiny’, Russell W. Gough, states the steps to personal growth from discarding selfishness to embracing the greater good, from examining our lives to taking responsibility for our actions, from becoming a better role model for our loved ones to finding the courage to do the right thing naturally and consistently. People grow in the moral traditions of their surroundings and not in isolation of their own morals and ethics. Liberal society can only flourish if the citizens hold certain moral and civic values, and manifest certain virtues. In the modern era, society is being affected by technology  in ubiquitous fashion. While maintaining its upright position, and both science and technology are also being influenced by society.
